21 July 2026 – The Falam Christian Ministers’ Fellowship (FCMF), in cooperation with Falam-based civil society organizations (CSOs), will provide free transportation for displaced Falam residents wishing to return from Kalay town and resettle in Falam town, Chin State.
The fourth return trip will depart on 31 July 2026. Capacity is limited to 50 passengers, with priority given to those permanently resettling in Falam town, elderly people, and those in poor health. One 50-seat minibus and one 10-wheeled cargo truck will be used. Registration will close when 50 people have enrolled.
Registration will be held at the Central Chin Pawlpi office in Kalay town on 27 and 28 July, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Each passenger may bring up to three bags, which must be delivered on 30 July between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. No luggage will be accepted on the departure day.
The organizers will not be responsible for lost or exchanged items. Goods for resale, business equipment, and alcohol are prohibited.
FCMF and CSOs have also arranged return trips for people coming from other areas, including Tio town on 24 July and Hakha town on 23 or 30 July.
Local residents report that the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military’s government employees, their families, and some civilians have begun returning to Falam town, while SSPC military’s government offices and schools have reportedly reopened since June. – Reporting by Daniel
