SSPC intensifies airstrikes on Mindat township

27 June 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military carried out multiple airstrikes on eastern parts of Mindat township, Chin State.

Local sources reported that a Y-12 bomber aircraft from Tada-U Air Base conducted 17 bombing runs between 3:02 pm and 4:05 pm, dropping more than 60 bombs in clusters of three and five over eastern Mindat.

Later, at approximately 7:19 pm, a fighter jet from Tada-U Air Base carried out another airstrike, dropping two high-explosive bombs on the same area.

In total, local sources reported that SSPC aircraft conducted 18 airstrikes and dropped more than 62 bombs on eastern Mindat township on 27 June.

The attacks followed heavy aerial bombardments on 26 June, at around 8:03 pm, 8:08 pm, 8:13 pm, and 8:18 pm, two fighter jets from Naypyidaw’s Aela Air Base conducted four airstrikes on eastern Mindat.

Later, at approximately 3:26 pm, a fighter jet from Naypyidaw’s Aela Air Base carried out an airstrike near Mindat town, dropping two bombs.

Additionally, at approximately 6:00 am, a Y-12 bomber aircraft from Tada-U Air Base conducted six bombing runs over eastern Mindat, dropping more than 20 bombs in four-bomb clusters.

In total, SSPC aircraft reportedly carried out 11 airstrikes and dropped more than 30 bombs on 26 June.

Information regarding casualties and damage from the latest attacks was not immediately available. Local sources said assessments were ongoing. – Reporting by Ben
