20 May 2026 – The Thantlang Township Federation (TTF) has issued an urgent fundraising appeal, calling on all natives of Thantlang township to contribute a minimum of 100 USD to counter the escalating conflict in Chin State.
The TTF, which recently changed its name from the Global Thantlang Relief Organization (GTRO), stated that the campaign is a direct response to “intensified military movements” and the urgent need for unity and collective support.
The organization’s underlying goal is tied to the movement to recapture Thantlang town. The appeal seeks funds from individuals and encourages additional fundraising at the village, township, and community-group levels.
This mobilization follows reports of heightened violence across the region, providing context for the TTF’s urgency. The call mirrors broader mobilization, as the Chin People’s Union/Chin People’s Army (CPU/CPA) has also called on global Chin communities to support an emergency defense fund.
State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) forces have escalated offensives, including burning at least 28 civilian homes in Chuncung village, conducting aerial assaults on Mindat town, and intensifying forced conscription in nearby Kalay town.
In Falam town, recently recaptured by the SSPC, returning residents are facing severe infrastructural damage and difficulties accessing clean drinking water. – Reporting by Daniel
