13 May 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) continued airstrikes on Mindat town in Chin State for a third consecutive day.

Initial reports indicated that a fighter jet from Tada-U Air Base carried out an airstrike on a location in Mindat town at around 3:46 pm today, reportedly dropping two bombs.

Following the attack, a reconnaissance drone believed to have been launched from Kyaukhtu-based Infantry Battalion 368 was seen flying over parts of Mindat town for surveillance operations.

The exact damage and casualty situation from the latest airstrike could not yet be confirmed due to communication difficulties in the area.

Meanwhile, local sources said an SSPC military column of around 500 troops that departed from Laung She earlier on 13 May has reportedly reached Thee Kone village, located about four miles from Saw town. Residents nearby also reported hearing gunfire as the column advanced through the area.

The latest airstrikes came after SSPC attacks on Mindat town on 11 and 12 May, which killed four people, including a prisoner of war, and damaged around 15 houses as well as several government buildings. – Reporting by Ben
