31 March 2026 — A high-level delegation from the Chinland Government visited internally displaced persons (IDP) camps from 23 to 26 March.
The delegation was led by Chinland Council Vice Chair -1 Salai Men Nyo and included Chinland Chief Minister Salai Myo Htike, Minister for Social Development Salai Za Thawng, and other officials.
During the visit, the delegation met displaced people from Paletwa township and observed their living conditions.
Officials held discussions with camp leaders and IDPs on key challenges, including education, healthcare, and daily livelihoods.
The delegation provided support and outlined plans to strengthen assistance for affected communities. Psychosocial support was also provided during the visit.
Vice Chair Salai Men Nyo highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen government systems and improve public services. He also shared updates on the security situation and the Chinland Council’s political direction.
Prime Minister Salai Myo Htike said the government would continue to prioritise essential services, including healthcare, children’s education, and basic living needs.
Minister Salai Za Thawngg expressed sympathy for displaced communities and encouraged collective efforts to address current challenges. – Reporting by Ben
