14 March 2026 — Airstrikes carried out by the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) in Falam town, Chin State, reportedly killed three soldiers from the Chin National Army (CNA) on 13 March.
According to local sources, the airstrike occurred at approximately 11:14 am when a jet fighter believed to have flown from Magway Air Base dropped bombs on a house in Lungpi Ward that was being used by CNA personnel. The strike killed three soldiers instantly.
The deceased were identified as Captain Aih Nyan Lin Aung (25) from Paletwa Township, Corporal Mang Deih Nuam (18) from Tonzang Township, and Private Siang Biak (24) from Thantlang Township.
A funeral service for the three soldiers was reportedly held later that night at Camp Victoria, the headquarters of the Chin National Army.
On the same day, SSPC aircraft also carried out additional airstrikes on Lati and Kulzam villages in Falam Township. Local sources further reported that the SSPC conducted aerial drops of weapons and rations to resupply its troops who were stranded in parts of the township following earlier advances from Kalay town in Sagaing Region.
Reinforcement troops from the SSPC, estimated to be around 200 personnel in a convoy, reportedly departed Kalay on 10 March and arrived in Valung village in Falam Township on 13 March.
In recent months, clashes between local defence groups and SSPC forces have intensified in Falam township, as the military-aligned troops attempt to seize control of the strategically important town of Falam, which is currently held by local resistance forces aligned with the Chin movement.#
