February 19, 2026 – State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) airstrikes on Thursday injured several civilians and damaged numerous homes in villages across Hakha and Falam townships in Chin State.
Initial reports indicate the attacks began around 1:00 pm. The SSPC launched airstrikes on Zokhua and Cinkhua villages in Hakha township without any reported prior clashes. The attacks resulted in damage to multiple civilian residences, and at least 3 persons were injured, two of whom sustained serious injuries.
A community source reported that Zokhua village was bombed first, destroying approximately three civilian houses. Shortly after, areas near Cinkhua village were targeted, causing extensive damage to homes and seriously injuring three civilians.
Two of the three injured are receiving treatment at Hakha General Hospital and one is in critical condition.
A Hakha resident told the Chinland Guardian that the two males injured were over the age of 60. One suffered injuries to his back in two places, and the other was injured in his thigh.
Approximately 1:30 am on the same day, Lumbang village in Falam township, east of Falam town, was also struck in an airstrike, reportedly by a Y-12 aircraft. Several houses were damaged, and one woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
These incidents follow a previous attack on 10 and 16 February, when Tlangkhua village in Thantlang township and Zangzawl village in Tedim township were bombed despite no fighting. That attack resulted in the deaths of at least six civilians, including an elderly man, and left many others injured. – Reporting by Ben
