9 January 2026 – Two residential buildings in Tedim town, Chin State, were damaged after State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) troops deployed a bomb via a drone on the evening of 8 January.

“Around 6:00 pm yesterday, SSPC troops arbitrarily dropped a drone bomb in the Leitawhtan ward of Tedim town, damaging two houses. Although one house was severely damaged, there were no reported casualties or injuries among the local population,” a Tedim resident confirmed.

The houses struck by the drone were identified as the residence of Mr. Tun Za Mang, with the adjacent house belonging to Mr. Pum Khan En Pau also sustaining damage due to the force of the explosion.

The incident occurred despite the absence of ongoing clashes in the area.

The strike followed the successful capture of the SSPC’s strategic Kennedy Hill outpost, located between Tedim and Kalay towns, on 4 January. That operation was conducted by a joint force of the Chin Brotherhood (CB) and the Chinland Council (CC).

Officials from PDF-Zoland reported that the capture resulted in the deaths of at least 10 SSPC soldiers, the arrest of over 20 individuals, including Major Kyaw Thu Htike, and the seizure of more than 30 weapons. – Reporting by Daniel
