28 December 2025 – Troops from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) conducted airstrikes and heavy artillery shelling in Loklung village, Hakha township, Chin State, resulting in damage to residential property, including a church compound.
The SSPC troops reportedly dropped approximately eight bombs from a jet fighter around 1:40 pm on 26 December 2025, followed by three rounds of heavy artillery shelling on the evening of 27 December.
A Loklung resident told the Lungmili Post that the attack primarily targeted the area near the village cemetery, though some smaller bombs struck the village itself.
Following the shelling, local residents reported that SSPC troops advancing from Hakha town toward Loklung on 27 December caused all villagers to evacuate and seek safety.
While no casualties have been reported, initial assessments indicate damage to two homes, including the Church of Jesus Christ (CJC) church quarter. Due to the mass evacuation, the full extent of property damage has yet to be confirmed.
Sources also reported that one 500-pound SSPC bomb failed to detonate. Additionally, local residents confirmed that around 12 tombs in the Hakha town cemetery sustained damage from the recent aerial and ground attacks. – Reporting by Daniel
