6 November 2025 — Myanmar’s military junta has recaptured its former base on Kennedy Hill, also known as Kennedy Peak, located in Tedim township, Chin State.

The offensive force, consisting of approximately 200 soldiers, advanced from Tedim town towards Taingen village, culminating in the reoccupation of the strategically important Kennedy Mountain base.

Soldiers from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) are reportedly now stationed at the peak. The base was previously held by the local People’s Defence Force (PDF-Zoland), which seized it on 21 November 2023.

The operation to reclaim the position followed a significant military build-up. In late October, the State Administration Council (SAC) military reinforced its personnel, weapons, and ammunition at Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 269 in Tedim town, primarily utilizing military helicopters.

Standing over 8,000 feet high, Kennedy Peak occupies a key strategic position between Kalay town in Sagaing Region and Tedim town in Chin State. – Reporting by Daniel.
