Two Chin pastors killed in car accident

21 April 2015 — A car accident happening near Zawngkawng, Tedim Township around 11:30am yesterday killed two Chin Christian pastors and injured two children.

James Khai Tual, 38, youth secretary of the Chin Baptist Convention, and Cin Thian Nang, 43, a church pastor in Taingen village, died on the spot, according to the Hakha Post.

Tual’s two sons, aged 14 and 16, suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Falam General Hospital.

CBC Vice President Rev. D. Vai Lian Zul said that they couldn’t identify a cause for the accident and that the bodies would be taken to their respective villages in Chin State after a post-mortem examination in Kalay, Sagaing Region.

The SUV plunged about 500 feet from the road while the two pastors were returning from a conference held in Limkhai, Tedim Township.

The bodies of the two pastors arrived in Falam around 4am today and a prayer service was held at the CCOC (Chin for Christ in One Century) Hall, according to the Chinland Today.

James Tual Khai, father of six from Khuasak, was a pastor of the Siyin Region Baptist Association and Cin Thian Nang worked as a pastor in his village, Taingen, while studying his master’s in Divinity at the Chin Christian Institute of Theology.#
