Chin State Hluttaw meeting postponed

11 March 2015 — The 10th regular session of the Chin State parliament has been put off to take place in the end of this month, according to sources from the State government.

Kyaw Ngein, State minister of Forestry and Mines, said it had been initially scheduled for 20 March but it would take place on 30 and 31 March.

According to the Chinland Post, Deputy Hluttaw speaker Ohn Lwin said the reasons for the postponement were because of issues related to the 2015-16 budget and the schedule for an official opening ceremony of the new Matupi-Paletwa road.

The session should be held before the first of April, the start of the new fiscal year, according to the Chin minister.

Speaker Hau Khen Kham said the session would mainly have discussion focusing on the 2015-16 budget estimates.#
