EU delegation to visit Chin State
14 February 2015 — A four-member delegation of the European Union will be making their fisrt visit to Chin State next week, a source from the Chin Peace and Tranquility Committee said.
The delegation comprised of Isabel Faria de Almeida, Head of Operations; Isabell Poppelbaum, Political Adviser; Manuel de Rivera Lamo de Espinosa and Aung Aung is expected to arrive in Hakha on 19 February.
“According to information received, we will have a meeting with the delegation next Thursday night. Afterwards, they will also meet with the Chin State government,” Rev. Tluang Ceu, a CPTC member, told the Hakha Post.
He said that the delegation would be attending the Chin National Day celebration on 20 February.
The EU opened its office in Rangoon, Burma on 28 April 2012.#
