Lazy Club to team up with Chin singers to celebrate Chin National Day
13 February 2015 — A Burmese music band ‘Lazy Club’ is to join with a group of Burmese and Chin singers in the celebration of Chin National Day in Hakha, Chin State.
Pu Tam Aung, a leading member of the entertainment and music committee for the event, told the Chinland Post that Lazy Club would play for six new Burmese singers and well-known Chin vocalists including Zam Nu, Thun Kham and Van Dawt Cin.
He also indicated that Burma’s famous singer Si Thu Lwin would join the team and that the committee was trying to invite more singers including Nicolas Dawt Kam Sang, a top contestant of the TV music competition called ‘Where Dreams Meet’.
They are expected to arrive in Hakha next Tuesday for making necessary preparations and rehearsals ahead of the event which will mark the 67th anniversary on 20 February.
Entertainment programmes involving traditional dances and shows as well as singing will take place on 20 and 21 February, according to the committee.
Celebration of Chin National Day, having been prohibited inside the country by the authorities for decades, was officially re-allowed only after a ceasefire agreement between the Chin National Front and Burma’s government in 2012.#
