Chin martial artists won medals at Pre-SEA Games matches

15 September 2013: Martial artists from Chin State, Mai Zung Leng Cer and Tg Siam Za Khai aka Khaiboih have been awarded medals for their performances ahead of SEA Games in Burma.

Mai Zung Leng Cer, daughter of Pu Don Hre Don, received the second prize in karatedo at Thailand Open Karate Cup held in Bangkok on 8-9 September.

According to vcth.net, it was the first time the Chin karateka, originally from Falam town of Chin State, participated in a competition outside of Burma.

Meanwhile, Khaiboih won three silver medals in Taekwondo at competitions held in Indonesia, the Republic of Korea and Thailand.

The two martial artists from Chin State are set to contest in the upcoming 27th SEA Games, which will be hosted by Burma from 11 to 22 December 2013.#
