Communities to set up Zomi FM radio station in 2013

09 August 2013: An organization for Zomi communities worldwide, also known as Leitungbup Zomi Innkuan (LZI), plans to set up a radio station called ‘Zomi FM’ before the end of 2013.

The radio program is aimed at sharing current news in a local dialect on national and regional issues, and promoting education and unity among the Zomi.

Recently, the Executive Council of the organizaton called on Zomi communities across the globe for collective participation and contribution  toward establishing the radio station.

However, details of the program including issues related to licensing and broadcasting are not yet disclosed.

LZI is composed of Zomi communities from Canada, Denmark, Germany, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Norway, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, UK, and USA as well as Burma.#
