15 Injured in Car Accidents in Chin State

04 September 2011: At least 15 people were injured in road accidents at two separate locations between Tedim and Rih towns on the Indo-Burma Trade No. 2 route in Chin State on Friday.

A passenger-carrying bus overturned near Laitui village in Tedim Township injuring eleven while another accident with a car loaded with goods occurred near Lamzang village near Tedim town leaving four wounded, according to Chin World Media.

Among the injured, the car driver and one young female bus passenger were said to have been in serious condition, but no death was reported.

The first accident happened on the uphills from Rih in the morning and the second on the steep road toward Tedim town in the evening, according to a Tedim local as quoted by Chin World Media.

Meanwhile, Chin political parties are known to have submitted a proposal for Chin State development including road renovation and construction to Hluttaw session of Burma’s new government held in the new capital, Naypyidaw.
