SSPC conducts airstrikes on Mindat and Kanpetlet

3 July 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military continued its aerial campaign in Chin State, carrying out airstrikes on Mindat and Kanpetlet townships, according to local sources.

The latest attacks followed airstrikes on the evening of 2 July, when at approximately 8:27 pm and 8:31 pm, two fighter jets from Naypyidaw’s Aela Air Base conducted two airstrikes on areas east of Mindat town, reportedly dropping 11 high-explosive cluster bombs.

On the morning of 3 July, between 7:15 am and 7:33 am, a Y-12 bomber aircraft carried out 10 bombing runs over areas near Mindat, dropping around 30 bombs in clusters of two and three.

The same Y-12 bomber aircraft also conducted around eight additional bombing runs over eastern Kanpetlet township.

Information regarding casualties and damage from the latest attacks was not immediately available. Local sources said assessments were ongoing. – Reporting by Ben
