29 June 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military carried out a sustained series of overnight and morning airstrikes on eastern Mindat township, Chin State.
The attacks began at approximately 11:28 pm and 11:32 pm when a fighter jet from Tada-U Air Base conducted two bombing runs on a location east of Mindat town, dropping a total of four bombs.
Later, between 8:50 am and 9:15 am, the same aircraft carried out six more bombing runs, dropping more than 40 bombs in clusters of nine, five, and four.
The aerial assault resumed at around 6:00 am, when a Y-12 bomber aircraft conducted 10 bombing runs, dropping around 50 bombs over eastern Mindat.
Shortly after midnight on 28 June, at approximately 12:16 am, 12:20 am, 12:24 am, and 12:29 am, two fighter jets from Naypyidaw’s Aela Air Base carried out four additional airstrikes, dropping eight bombs on the same area.
In total, SSPC aircraft conducted at least 20 airstrikes and dropped approximately 98 bombs on eastern Mindat township between 11:28 pm on 27 June and 9:15 am on 28 June.
Information regarding casualties and damage was not immediately available. Local sources said assessments were ongoing. – Reporting by Ben
