17 June 2026 – A State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military jet fighter from Tada-U Air Base carried out two airstrikes on a location in Nyaung Pin Gyi Taw village, Wetlet township, Sagaing Region, at approximately 12:42 pm and 12:46 pm.
The strikes killed a pregnant woman, who was reportedly struck in the head, along with her unborn child, her daughter, and another woman, bringing the death toll to four people. Two cattle were also killed.
The pregnant woman was reportedly close to giving birth. Several other people were injured in the attack, including one person who suffered a severe abdominal wound and remains in critical condition.
No military column or ground operation was present in the area at the time of the incident, and the airstrikes were carried out despite the absence of any ongoing ground fighting. – Reporting by Daniel
