27 May 2026 — The Myanmar State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out renewed heavy airstrikes on Kanpetlet town in Chin State yesterday.

According to local sources, a Y-12 bomber aircraft dropped bombs three and four on a single target area at around 7:30 pm.

The aircraft operating from Meiktila Air Base conducted at least eight consecutive bombing runs over the eastern part of the town.

The exact targets could not be independently verified. However, local sources said the strikes appeared to be concentrated near active conflict areas and surrounding villages.

Further details regarding damage and possible casualties remain unclear at the time of reporting.

The latest airstrikes follow earlier attacks on 25 May, when SAC jet fighters carried out two separate bombing runs on the township in the early morning.

Local sources also said that SAC ground forces, which launched an offensive from Saw township toward Kanpetlet on 16 May, remain positioned approximately six miles from the town.

They added that aerial operations have continued in support of the ground offensive, including drone reconnaissance, Y-12 supply drops and bombing operations, as well as repeated jet fighter strikes aimed at facilitating military movement on the ground. – Reporting by Ben
