18 May 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) jet fighter carried out an airstrike in Mindat town, Chin State today.

Initial local reports indicate that the aircraft flying from the Tada-U Air Base dropped two bombs weighing around 500 pounds at around 3:09 pm.

A jet fighter dropped two bombs at the same time. The bombs hit residential houses. Many homes were damaged, and there were also injured people. Information regarding casualties and damage had not yet been confirmed at the time of reporting.

The attack came amid escalating military tensions in Chin State, where SSPC junta forces have intensified both ground operations and aerial attacks in recent days.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and stay inside bomb shelters or other safe locations due to the continuing threat of further airstrikes. – Reporting by Ben
