18 May 2026 – Falam Pawlpi Falam (FPF) has arranged transportation for displaced residents originally from Falam town who have been staying in Kalay town for the past two years due to conflict, facilitating their return to Falam town, Chin State.

Three vehicles will depart at 8:00 am tomorrow from Taungphila Ward, Kalay town. The arrangement prioritizes non-government personnel, particularly those facing financial hardship or unemployment.

Returnees are allowed to carry limited belongings, two sacks and one sack of rice per individual, while larger households may carry up to three sacks and one sack of rice. Passengers are advised to clearly label and securely pack their belongings due to the rainy season.

Transportation costs are to be borne by the passengers.

Returnees were instructed to bring their belongings to the designated site between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm for loading.

The initiative follows recent developments in Falam town after the SSPC took over it on 25 April, with efforts underway to restore administrative functions and facilitate the return of displaced residents.

Over 6,000 people were previously displaced to Kalay town and nearby areas, while more than 100 government employees had already returned in an earlier phase. – Reporting by Daniel
