12 May 2026 – The Chin People’s Union/Chin People’s Army (CPU/CPA) reported that the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out a series of airstrikes on Mindat town and surrounding areas in southern Chin State between 11 and 12 May 2026.
According to the statement, SSPC forces conducted two airstrikes targeting a location in Mindat town at approximately 11:45 pm on 11 May using jet fighter aircraft.
The attacks continued throughout 12 May, with two additional airstrikes carried out near Mindat town at around 8:00 am. Later at approximately 11:00 am, the SSPC military launched another two aerial attacks over the town.
In the evening at around 6:30 pm, SSPC jet fighters carried out five further airstrikes targeting Mindat town.

According to the Chin People’s Union/Chin People’s Army (CPU/CPA), the military conducted a total of 11 airstrikes over the two-day period.
The statement indicated that at least four people, including prisoners of war, were killed in the attacks. Approximately 15 civilian homes, 10 former government office buildings, and four vehicles were damaged or destroyed, along with other property losses. Several individuals were also reported injured.

The Chin People’s Union/Chin People’s Army (CPU/CPA) urged civilians to avoid large gatherings and prepare bomb shelters and trenches at homes and shops. Residents were also advised to closely monitor reconnaissance drones, surveillance aircraft, and airstrike warning information due to the ongoing threat of aerial attacks. – Reporting by Ben
