30 April 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out a renewed airstrike on Kyindwe town in Kanpetlet township, Chin State, for a second consecutive day on 30 April, according to local sources.

Initial reports indicate that the attack occurred at around 1:30 pm, when a military aircraft, reportedly returning from a security surveillance mission over Artillery Battalion 368 based in Kyaukhtu, launched another aerial strike on the town.

The strike targeted the same location hit a day earlier, with a bomb striking the central section of a bridge in Kyindwe. “They hit the same place again. The bomb fell directly on the bridge,” a local source said.

The two CDF (Chin Defence Force) members were killed, and the details of injuries remain unclear, as information is still being independently verified. It has not yet been confirmed whether there were additional casualties.

The latest attack follows a previous airstrike on 29 April targeting the bridge over the Mung stream. That strike killed nine civilians, including eight men and one woman, and injured four others, two of whom were in critical condition.

Residents expressed growing concern over repeated aerial attacks and the risks posed to civilians and critical infrastructure. Calls have been made for heightened vigilance as airstrike threats continue across southern Chin State and surrounding areas. – Reporting by Ben
