23 April 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out a heavy aerial bombardment on Meezaar village in Paletwa township, Chin State yesterday.
According to initial reports from Khumiland News shared with local media, the attack involved approximately 45 bombs dropped on the village.
Details regarding casualties and damage are unconfirmed as verification remains ongoing.
The attack marks the latest in a series of intensified SSPC air operations targeting civilians in Paletwa township and across Chin State. The ongoing campaign has caused civilian casualties and widespread damage to homes, dramatically increasing insecurity for residents.
This follows a massive bombing offensive in Falam town and other areas, which has been part of a six-month effort by the SSPC to recapture key locations.
Earlier this year, a separate SSPC airstrike on 29 March hit Kraung Chaung village in the same township, killing six civilians and injuring four others, including a child, despite no reported clashes in the vicinity. – Reporting by Ben
