17 April 2026 – The Chinland Defense Force-Thantlang (CDF-Thantlang) has issued a clear call for all personnel who have exceeded their approved leave to return to headquarters by 25 April.
In a statement released on 15 April, the group encouraged its members to rejoin active duty, emphasising the importance of unity and readiness as it continues to defend local communities and coordinate with allied resistance forces.
Officials noted that those who return may still undergo standard disciplinary procedures, while individuals who do not comply by the deadline will be removed from the roster. They will no longer receive organisational benefits or protections, including those extended to their families under the National Service Policy (NSP).
The group also clarified that it will not be responsible for service records of non-compliant members.
This directive reflects CDF-Thantlang’s ongoing efforts to maintain discipline and operational effectiveness amid sustained resistance activities in Thantlang township and surrounding areas of Chin State.
The call comes as the group actively recruits new members under the National Service Policy and works to bolster its capabilities alongside other Chin resistance forces.
Since its formation in the wake of the 2021 military takeover, CDF-Thantlang has played a key role in local defence operations, contributing to broader efforts by Chin groups to protect their homeland and advance the cause of freedom and self-determination.
The move is seen as part of a wider push to ensure strong, cohesive units capable of meeting current challenges while keeping morale and commitment high among its ranks. – Reporting by Daniel
