Initial reports from Zalen said the windstorm struck at around 2:00 am on 15 March and lasted for more than three hours, blowing off the roofs of several shelters.

Three shelters had their roofs completely blown off, while several others were partially damaged. Some houses belonging to local villagers were also affected.
