27 April 2026 — Tensions have escalated in Sihleh village, Matupi township, Chin State, following allegations that members of the Daai Chin Defence Force (CDF) carried out actions that have raised concern among residents yesterday.

Residents said CDF members entered churches and removed Wi-Fi equipment stored inside. The devices were reportedly purchased through community contributions, and their removal has disrupted communication within and outside the village.

On Sunday morning, villagers—including elders, youth, and community leaders—gathered at the village primary school to discuss the situation. Some were reportedly carrying knives and traditional hunting firearms, reflecting heightened tensions and fears of possible confrontation.

Sources also alleged that some members took livestock, including chickens and pigs, without the consent of villagers, and searched homes for supplies. At least two Wi-Fi devices were taken.

Additional reports indicate that solar power systems installed in homes were damaged or removed, further increasing concern among residents.

Villagers have expressed frustration, with some staging protests. Community members said trust in the group has declined, with concerns that its actions are negatively affecting civilians.

Despite reportedly receiving food and support from residents, the group has been accused of continuing activities that disrupt daily life. Some villagers said they are no longer willing to support the group.

The situation remains tense, with residents calling for restraint and a resolution to prevent further escalation.
