SSPC airstrike targets Mindat-Kyaukhtu road in Chin State

14 January 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) conducted an airstrike in Mindat township, Chin State, on the morning of 13 January.

The aerial attack occurred at approximately 10:30 am, targeting the Kyaukhtu–Mindat main road and the vicinity of Htin Chaung village in Mindat township. 

An SSPC jet fighter reportedly dropped at least two bombs during the operation.

Local residents confirmed that one bomb hit the paved road, with the second landing near Htin Chaung village. No civilian fatalities or serious injuries were reported.

This incident follows a pattern of aerial activity in the area. On 10 January, SSPC jet fighters reportedly carried out aerial firing near Htin Chaung village, resulting in a non-life-threatening injury to one civilian.

Previously, on 25 December 2025, SSPC airstrikes reportedly damaged and destroyed up to six civilian homes in the eastern ward of Mindat township. – Reporting by Ben
