06 January 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out an airstrike on Taung Khin Yan village in Gangaw township, Magway Region, in the early morning on 5 January, damaging civilian homes and food storage facilities, according to local residents.
The attack occurred at around 1:15 am, when a junta jet fighter bombed the village. There were no reports of ground fighting in the area at the time.
Local sources said six houses and two rice storage barns were damaged, and about 600 baskets of stored rice were destroyed.
Residents reported that the SSPC has conducted at least six airstrikes across the Yaw region between 3 and 5 January 2026.
Resistance groups warned that civilians remain at risk and urged people in the area to stay alert to further air attacks. – Reporting by Ben
