Aizawl, 5 December 2025 – The Institute of Chin Affairs Inc. (ICA) successfully organized a ‘Friendship Dinner’ and cultural event, ‘Together for Humanity,’ in Aizawl yesterday, bringing together representatives from Chin State and Mizoram State.
The gathering, hosted by Dr. B. Lalzarliana of Mizoram University, saw the attendance of Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, two state ministers, and key leaders from Mizo civil society organizations.
Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma delivered a special address, emphasizing the critical need for unity among Chin communities in their struggle against Myanmar’s military authorities. He underscored the importance of collaborative efforts and shared information for a clear understanding of the situation, reaffirming the commitment of the Mizoram State government, under his leadership, to continue its support.
The event featured a Chin cultural dance performed by the Chin Pawlpi Mizoram, celebrating traditional victories of warriors and hunters. A total of 130 distinguished guests and representatives from Mizoram and Myanmar attended.
All Mizo speakers stressed the significance of strengthening shared ancestral values, culture, traditions, and literature. They also voiced strong opposition to the border fencing program proposed by the Central Government of India, highlighting the historical division of the people into three countries—Myanmar, India, and Bangladesh—by the British colonial administration.

The ICA presented a detailed overview of the humanitarian situation in Chin State, utilizing photos and data. The presentation documented the impact of the Myanmar military’s attacks, including the number of civilians killed and injured by ground troops and airstrikes, and the extensive destruction of homes, religious buildings, schools, and hospitals.
Chin speakers expressed deep gratitude to the Mizoram State government, civil society, and local communities for their kindness, support, and understanding shown to the displaced populations from Chin State and Myanmar as a whole, who have sought refuge in Mizoram since the 2021 coup.
The ICA, formed in May 2021 by members of the Chin diaspora across the United States, Australia, Europe, India, Malaysia, and Thailand, is dedicated to work in healthcare, education, humanitarian relief, capacity building, and workshops.#
