20 July 2016 — The Tedim Township General Administration Department this morning opens a new office in Khaikam, a Chin town bordering Sagaing Region.
The town is named after Khai Kam, a Sizaang Chin chief who led rebellion against the British forces in 1892 and was arrested and sent to the Andaman Islands. A college in Kalay, adjacent to Khaikam, was first called ‘Khaikam College’ before it was later changed to Kalay University.
