18 June 2026 – Four Myanmar military personnel, including a Sergeant and a Corporal, defected to the Chinland Defense Force-Civic Defense Militia Siyin (CDF-CDM Siyin) on 17 June, bringing their weapons and ammunition with them.
The defectors were members of Infantry Battalion 101, under Light Infantry Division 77, and had been stationed at Taingen village in Tedim township, Chin State, along the Kalay-Tedim-Hakha Road. The area is currently under the control of CDF-CDM Siyin.
CDF-CDM Siyin announced that it welcomed the four soldiers and provided them with cash rewards following their defection.
IB 101 is part of LID 77, whose headquarters are based in Bago Region. This battalion under the SSPC military is known as a mobile combat unit that is deployed across Myanmar for military operations.#
