25 May 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out a series of airstrikes on Kanpetlet town in Chin State between the night of 24 May and the early morning of 25 May, according to local sources.

A local source reported that a jet fighter from Taungoo Air Base carried out two separate airstrikes targeting a location in Kanpetlet town at around 12:40 am and 12:47 am.

Another attack was reported at approximately 12: 22 pm yesterday when a junta of two jet fighters from Taungoo Air Base dropped four bombs on a location in Kanpetlet town.

A further airstrike took place at around 11:45 pm on 25 May, when a junta jet fighter dropped two bombs on a location in Kanpetlet town.

At the same time, a Y-12 aircraft from Magway Air Base was reportedly seen flying around the Kanpetlet–Saw township area, allegedly conducting aerial supply drops for junta troops.

Airstrikes resumed early the following morning. At around 5:20 am on May 25, a jet fighter from Tada-U Air Base reportedly carried out two more airstrikes on a location in Kanpetlet town.

Local sources added that Y-12 aircraft activity continued throughout the morning in areas near Kanpetlet and Saw, supporting junta military operations with aerial supply drops.

Meanwhile, the SSPC military column that advanced from Saw toward Kanpetlet on 21 May was reportedly still positioned around six miles below Kanpetlet town, where clashes with resistance forces were continuing.

Residents have not yet been able to confirm casualties or the extent of damage due to ongoing communication disruptions in the area. Details regarding casualties, injuries, and property damage remained unconfirmed at the time of reporting.

The latest attacks come amid intensified junta military operations across Chin State, where resistance-controlled towns, including Mindat town and Matupi town, have faced repeated airstrikes in recent weeks.

The incident has heightened fear among local residents, who have been urged to remain vigilant amid concerns over possible further aerial attacks. – Reporting by Ben
