4 May 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) intensified its aerial campaign today, launching multiple bombing runs across Tedim township as ground clashes with resistance forces entered a third consecutive day.
Local reports indicate that two jet fighters, operating from Tada-U Air Base, conducted at least four targeted strikes between 12:50 pm and 1:05 pm today.
These attacks follow a surge in military activity aimed at supporting a column of approximately 200 junta troops advancing from Kalay town to reinforce positions in Tedim.
The escalation comes as resistance groups, including PDF-Zoland and CDF-CDM-Siyin, continue to intercept military reinforcements near Thangmual Hill and Akluai village. Strategic objectives appear centered on Kennedy Hill, a vital high-ground base currently held by resistance forces.
The humanitarian toll continues to mount. On 2 May, 13-year-old Lian Muan Kim was killed by shrapnel when an artillery shell struck near a petrol station at the entrance to Tedim town. His brother was also injured in the blast.
This follows a broader pattern of civilian impact across the region. In April, similar air raids in Falam township claimed seven lives, including six children.
While the military recently conducted large-scale troop rotations via helicopters to the LIB-269 base in Tedim, communication challenges continue to hamper the full assessment of casualties and infrastructure damage. –
