4 May 2026 – A member of the People’s Defence Force-Zoland (PDF-Zoland) forces, identified as Mr. Lang Khat Suan, was killed in ongoing clashes near Akluai village in Tedim township, Chin State, according to local sources.
Fighting between the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military forces and Chin Brotherhood-aligned resistance groups has remained intense in the area between Tedim town and Taingen village since 2 May and continued through 4 May.
Mr. Lang Khat Suan, a native of Mualbem village, was reported to have died while fighting in defense of his community. Sources described his death as occurring during heavy engagements involving an estimated 180 SSPC troops advancing toward Tedim town.
His death has prompted an outpouring of grief in his home community, where he is remembered as having sacrificed his life in the line of duty. Local residents and organizations have expressed condolences to his family and fellow fighters.
Clashes in the Akluai area remain ongoing as SSPC forces continue their advance and resistance groups attempt to repel them. – Reporting by Daniel
