Chinland officials meet MZP and ZORO in Mizoram

1 April 2026 — Officials from the Chinland Council and the Chinland Government held separate meetings with the Mizo Students’ Union (MZP) and the Zo Re-Unification Organisation (ZORO) in Aizawl, Mizoram, on 31 March.

The meeting with MZP took place at its office in Aizawl. It was attended by Chinland Council Vice Chairman 1 Salai Men Nyo, Chief Minister Salai Myo Htike, and MZP leaders.

Participants discussed protection and assistance for IDPs and refugees’ access to humanitarian support, and opportunities for displaced and refugee students to pursue higher education. Both sides also explored areas for future cooperation.

On the same day, Chinland officials met ZORO representatives to discuss broader IDP issues. The discussion focused on protection for displaced and refugee communities, coordination to strengthen Chin unity, and efforts toward reunification.

Earlier, from 23 to 26 March, the Chinland delegation visited IDP camps and met displaced people from Paletwa township. The recent meetings with MZP and ZORO followed these visits and aimed to address the ongoing challenges faced by IDPs and refugees in Mizoram. – Reporting by Ben
