2 February 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) escalated its aerial campaign in Chin State today, with a jet fighter deployed from Tada-U Air Base launching an attack on a civilian village near Mindat town.

Initial reports from local sources indicate that the aircraft conducted a primary attack at approximately 2:20 pm, involving three bombing runs on a village situated in the No. 1 area of Mindat, followed by sustained, indiscriminate heavy machine-gun fire.

A second wave of strikes reportedly targeted the same location around 3:44 pm, consisting of three additional airstrike runs.

As of the latest updates, an ATR-42 reconnaissance aircraft continues to circle the No. 1 area, fueling concerns about the potential for further military air operations.

The full extent of the damage and any potential casualties has not yet been confirmed. Residents in the area have been advised to maintain vigilance and adhere to all necessary safety precautions as the situation remains volatile. – Reporting by Ben
