30 January 2026 – Over 100 State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) soldiers have been killed, and approximately 30 captured, following fierce clashes with Chin resistance groups in Falam township, Chin State.

Joint operations by local defence forces, including the Chinland Council and the Chin National Defence Force, successfully repelled SSPC troops attempting to recapture Falam town.

The SSPC forces were advancing along the Kalay-Taingen and Kalay-Webula Roads when they engaged with combined resistance forces under the Chinland Council (CC) and the Chin National Organization/Chin National Defence Force (CNO/CNDF), a member of the Chin Brotherhood (CB).

“During the three months of fighting, between 100 and 150 junta soldiers have been killed. We have captured nearly 30 individuals,” stated Salai Nai John Kim, spokesperson for the Chinland Ministry of Defense.

He reported that SSPC troops are currently stationed in Khuangli village (Taingen route) and Sumhrang village (Webula route), and a resumption of hostilities is possible.

“Although there is no fighting at the moment, conflict could unexpectedly break out this evening, tonight, or tomorrow,” he commented.

Salai Nai John Kim also cautioned the public to be careful when sharing information about the conflict online, stressing that inaccurate reporting could create disunity among resistance forces. – Reporting by Daniel
