28 November 2025 — Four members of local defense groups were killed during heavy fighting against the Myanmar military in Zawngkawng village, Tedim township, Chin State.

The clashes began as a junta military column, reportedly consisting of over 300 soldiers, advanced toward Falam town along the Falam-Kalay main road and entered Zawngkawng village.

When the soldiers of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) raided Zawngkawng, close-quarters fighting erupted. The four fallen fighters, identified as comrades from the local defence forces, were reportedly killed together while resisting the attack yesterday.

According to local reports, an attempted mine attack by the local defense groups failed due to issues with the explosive devices, alerting the SSPC column to their position. “The SSPC soldiers knew their position and began to suppress them with fire,” a local source stated.

“Our troops then retreated and were resting, split into groups inside the village. The SSPC soldiers divided into two groups—one bypassing the village and one advancing along the main road—and at around 1:00 am, they surrounded and raided Zawngkawng village from all directions.”

The bodies of the four fallen fighters have not yet been recovered, as SSPC soldiers are reportedly still positioned in ambush in the area.

Local defense forces have continuously resisted the SSPC column in nearby villages, including Taingen, Suahlim and Bekan.

Local reports confirmed that at least seven SSPC soldiers were killed during the battle in Zawngkawng village on the morning of 27 November.
