6 November 2025 – An armed confrontation between Myanmar military troops and local defence forces erupted near Loklung village in Hakha township at approximately 5:30 pm yesterday, resulting in the death of one member of the Chinland Defence Force (CDF-Hakha).

The skirmish involved soldiers from the Myanmar military’s Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 266, based on Mount Rung above Hakha town, and the CDF-Hakha.

Local sources indicate that the junta troops advanced toward the village, located about nine miles from Hakha town, and launched a surprise attack on a CDF-Hakha security checkpoint situated on the Hakha-Matupi road.

Following the exchange of fire, the military troops reportedly retreated.

Further details regarding the engagement remain limited. – Reporting by Daniel
