National Unity Party to contest in Chin State

23 July 2015 — The National Unity Party says it will contest the November 8 general election from 11 constituencies in Chin State.

Biak Kham, NUP Chairman in Hakha Township, said that the party would run for election in six townships of Falam, Kanpetlet, Matupi, Mindat, Paletwa and Tedim.

He said in the Hakha Post that the NUP had not had any candidates to stand for election in Hakha, Thantlang and Tonzang townships yet.

The NUP, formed to participate in the 1990 general election by the military junta, is to contest in 749 constituencies across the country, according to the chairman.#
