Statement of The First Myanmarwide Chin Students’ Conference
Thantlang, Chin State
28 April 2015

Chin student representatives from universities in Pakokku, Sittwe, Monywa, Rangon, Mandalay, Magwe and Kalay successfully held the first countrywide Chin students’ conference in Thantlang, Chin State from 27 to 28 April 2015 and made the following decisions and resolutions:

1. The Chin Students’ Union, Myanmar was formed by unanimous agreement.

2. The Union, formed under the influence of no organizations and no individuals, shall be a free and independent body representing university students.

3. The Union shall strive to strengthen amity, respect and unity between Chin students from universities in Myanmar.

4. The Union shall strive to promote educational and social standards, and to achieve full student rights.

5. The Union shall be involved in Chin national issues one way or another.

6. The second Chin students’ conference shall be held in 2017.
