Former finance minister attends Chin National Day event in Delhi

26 February 2015 — Chin refugees stranded in New Delhi celebrated Chin National Day on 20 February in Possangipur, inviting Jasdish Mukhi, former Finance Minister of the government of Delhi as a chief guest of the ceremony.

The 73-year-old leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and two-time winner of the best Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) award in Delhi Vidhan Sabha, attended the event marking the 67th anniversary of the Chin historic day.

Organised by the Chin Student Union (CSU) in collaborating with Chin community in Delhi, the event attracted more than one thousand participants.

Chin cultural dances and songs, fashion show, and other traditional performance presented at the celebration.

It is estimated there are more than 4,500 Burmese refugees in Delhi and most of them are from Chin State.#
