Thein Sein believed to visit Chin State
03 February 2013: U Thein Sein is likely to make an official visit to Chin State for the first time as the President of Burma since his premiership in March 2011.
The former military commander and Prime Minister is believed to travel to Burma’s northwestern state bordering India in the near future although the date of his trip is not yet disclosed.
A source close to the government of Chin State said ministers and department officials are in preparation as the President is arriving any day soon in this month.
Chief Minister Pu Hung Ngai and other ministers have been making trips inside Chin State ahead of the President’s visit, according to reports.
Some speculated that Mr. Sai Mauk Kham, Vice President of Burma, would visit Chin State instead of the President.
