Chin female singer to release new album in Burma

29 January 2013: A new album in Burmese by Chin singer and songwriter Mai Shwe Shwe aka Par Chin is to be released nationwide in Burma on 2 February 2013.

Mai Shwe Shwe is scheduled to launch her first album called A That Shay Say at Happy World I in Rangoon between 1pm to 3pm on Saturday.

“There will be a promotion show with lot of celebrities at Happy World 1. So, please come along and support by buying or listing on that day,” Mai Shwe Shwe posted on Youtube.

The Chin singer will perform with other famous artists at the Saturday event where she is available to sign autographs for fans, according to an official source.

With music played by Burma’s top music band Iron Cross, the album is also out in a production of DVD directed by Nay Min Myat.

Before recording the album, Mai Shwe Shwe sang several times on television channels such as Myawaddy and Myanmar Athan, according to a source close to the Chin singer.

Previously, she was approached by music producers but she didn’t accept the offers as she said she was still young, according to Pu Nguntual Thawng.

Pu Nguntual Thawng told Chinland Guardian that she must have inherited her singing talent from her late mother, who was well-known for her voice.

Born to Pu Than Hre and Pi Pum Zi Mai, originally from Sihcang village of Thantlang Township, Chin State, Mai Shwe Shwe is the second youngest of six siblings.
