Free app of Chin dictionaries for Android phones available
21 January 2013: New applications of Hakha Chin English dictionaries for Android-based mobile devices are now available online for free download.
The applications, developed by Ram Cung, a Chin refugee in Malaysia, include three different dictionaries: English-Chin, Chin-English and English-Burmese.
Ram Cung said all the dictionaries are free to download and a new application for iPhone mobiles will also be available in the near future.
The website http://www.laitech.co.nr has got necessary information on how to download and install the software programs.
Other applications of Christian texts such as Bible and hymns in Hakha-Chin dialects are also available free of charge for mobile devices.
The Hakha-Chin-English dictionary, based on a printed version originally collected by Rev. Dr. David Van Bik, can be accessed online at http://chin-dictionary.com.
Late last year, a new app of an English-Chin-Myanmar dictionary for mobile phones such as as iPhone, iPod, and iPad was launched in Rangoon, Burma.
