56-yr-old Injured in Motorbike Accident in Tedim

04 October 2011: Pi Lun Za Mang, 56, is in a serious condition after she was yesterday hit in a motorbike accident in Tedim Town, Chin State.

The incident took place around 12:30pm when the 56-year-old woman was crossing the road in front of Yangon Store in Myoma Ward, according to the Chin World Media.

“A young lad Mr. Cil Tual was driving his motorbike very fast on the main road and couldn’t control the speed when he came across the situation. The victim was seriously injured,” said a local witness.

The injured Chin woman has been taken to a hospital in Kalaymyo, Sagaing Division after the Tedim Hospital said it was beyond what could be done with its current facilities in the town.

Mr. Cil Tual, 25, son of a retired Primary School headmaster Pu Gin Kho Thang, has been in police custody, according to sources.
