Journalists Met for Gospel Music Festival in Rangoon

02 October 2011: Reporters and journalists from over 20 journals in Rangoon yesterday gathered at the City Star Hotel in Rangoon, holding a media meeting for the upcoming gospel music concerts.

The meeting discussed issues in preparation for the media coverage of the 2nd Gospel Music Festival (GMF) which is set to take place at the Thuwanna National Stadium in Thingangyun for three nights from 14-16 this month.

Editor of Monitor Journal, U Zeya Myat Khaing chaired the discussion with short speeches and presentations given by GMF Chairman Rev. Dr. C.B. Philip Thang and Vice-Chairman Rev. Dr. Joseph Luang Nem, Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein on behalf of the singers, Ms Nanda from the sponsorship and U Myat Khaing, from Myanmar Journalist Association.

“This year’s GMF is unique and interesting as the entrance will be free and so is refreshment. More importantly, it is a concerted event for three long days organised by a group of different Christian denominations,” remarked U Zeya Myat Khaing during the meeting.

Some video-shootings have also been taken as part of GMF’s TV programmes at the gathering yesterday, according to sources from GMF.

In November last year, the first GMF took place with more than 4,000 people participating at the Myanmar Convention Center (MCC) in Rangoon, followed by a DVD production.

A troupe of Burma’s famous Christian singers will include Chaw Suh Khin, Chit Tuh Wai, M Sai, Nadi Htike, Nanda, Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein, Sangpi, Saw Phu Khua, Sung Tin Par, and Zamnu.
